Congress MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy, former MPs G Vivek, Madhu Yaskhi Goud, Ponnam Prabhakar, Balram Naik, former minister G Vinod, former MLAs Maheshwar Reddy and Athram Sakku, DCC president Ramachandra Reddy and party activists took part.

The Congress leaders handed over financial assistance of Rs 25,000 each to 75 families of farmers, who committed suicide, on behalf of the party. They alleged that farmers were committing suicide following a trauma as crops were drying due to lack of water in the absence of continuous power supply. “Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his government have failed to instill confidence among distressed farmers,” the leaders said.

Sukhender Reddy alleged that the government was showing partiality in distribution of pensions and food security cards. “Injustice is being done to real beneficiaries in distribution of pensions.”

“Chief Minister and his daughter K Kavitha, son K Taraka Rama Rao and his nephew T Harish Rao, all belong to same family, are enjoying posts,” the leaders alleged. They wondered how sanction of pension to one person in a family when two persons were eligible was justified.
