Govt bank staff strike work for wage revision
Employees belonging to public sector banks under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) participated in strike across the district.
Karimnagar: Employees belonging to public sector banks under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) participated in strike across the district. Bank staff staged a protest in front of SBH main branch in Karimnagar on Tuesday demanding Indian Banking Association (IBA) to fulfil their demand of wage revision.
Striking employees have alleged that the IBA was not hiking their salaries citing inflation and increase of non-performing assets. Employees said that they were working for the same salaries which were revised in 2007. They demanded the Central government to frame separate guidelines for recover bad loans from defaulters.
Khammam: Bank employees in the district took part in the strike demanding speedy implementation of wage revision. As part of the strike, bank staff staged a dharna in front of SBH main branch in Khammam city on Tuesday. The UFBU leader Chandrasekhar said that the IBA was not implementing wage revision.
He demanded the Central government not to open public sector banks for foreign direct investors. He alleged that the Central government and IBA are holding talks with union leaders but not resolving long-pending issues.
Employees protest: Employees of different banks under the aegis of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) staged a demonstration in front of the main branch of State Bank of Hyderabad at Metpally in Karimnagar district. The employees demanded immediate wage revision which has been kept pending for the last two years. They warned that they would go on an indefinite strike if they were not provided hike in salaries.
