As part of ‘Mahaparinirwan Diwas’, governmental, social and political organizations have organized various programmes across the district. At the district headquarters, a programme in this connection was held at Ambedkar Centre where the District Collector G Kishan participated.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector praised the contributions made by Ambedkar to the welfare of poor, Dalits, tribals and suppressed classes in the country. “He was a great scholar and stressed on the importance of education in freeing a man from ignorance and poverty. All his life he asserted this fact and wanted Dalits and tribals to study well and excel in their lives,” he said.

Collector Kishan called upon the youth to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Ambedkar and pursue academic activities in a sincere manner and to grow in life. “State and central governments were offering numerous opportunities to Dalits, tribals and BCs in terms of education and employment,” he added.

Dalit Ratna Bommalla Kattaiah and others also addressed the gathering while leaders of CPM Vasudeva Reddy and Ragula Ramesh offered floral tributes to Ambedkar. At a programme organised at Congress Bhavan, the party district president N Rajender Reddy and its city wing president T Vidyasagar, former Mayor Errabelli Swarna, former MLAs K Sridhar and P Veeraiah, TPCC general secretary Hari Rama Devi, secretaries B Prabhakar Reddy and K Srikar, media secretary EV Srinivasa Rao and others have offered floral tributes to Ambedkar.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajender Reddy said that Ambedkar has contributed towards the formulation of guidelines for the Reserve Bank of India while former Mayor Swarna lauded his efforts in protection of women’s rights. A similar programme was held at Kakatiya University where the university Registrar Prof MV Ranga Rao, School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education director Dinesh Kumar and others offered floral tributes to Ambedkar.

A meeting was held at Jignasa Junior College where Information and Public Relations deputy director M Balagangadhar Tilak, assistant director DS Jagan, APRO M Srinivas Kumar and district youth services coordinator NS Manoranjan recalled services of Ambedkar.Rich tributes paid to Dr Ambedkar Karimnagar: Paying rich tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar on the occasion of his 58th death anniversary here on Saturday, District Collector M Veerabrahmaiah described him as a beacon of light for the downtrodden and backward sections of the society.

Superintendent of Police Shiva Kumar, MLAs Gangula Kamalakar and Koppula Eshwar, city Mayor Sardar Ravinder, Commissioner of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Srikesh Lathkar Balajirao, Deputy Director of Scheduled Castes Corporation Nageshwara Rao and others were present on the occasion.
