Khammam: Minorities Welfare Department and Telangana State Christian Finance Corporation jointly organised a high tea programme at Training and Technology Development Centre conference hall on Friday as part of semi-Christmas celebrations. Programme was organised under the presidentship of Additional Joint Collector K Babu Rao. On the occasion, pastors and elders belonging to various churches gave messages signifying birth of Jesus.

Programme began with lighting of candles and cake cutting by Babu Rao. Speaking on the occasion, Additional Joint Collector conveyed his Christmas greetings to Christian brothers and sisters. He assured them of resolving all pending issues related to Christians in the district by bringing them to the notice of District Collector. He said the Minorities Welfare Department had organised pre-Christmas celebrations for the first time after Telangana State came into existence. He gave a call to participants to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and follow his teachings.

Pastor Showry, in his message, said loving a fellow person was equal to loving God. He said the Christians should strive to help others. He expressed happiness over various welfare schemes implemented by State and Central governments for the welfare of minorities. He stated that Christmas was the right time to remember the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the salvation of people.

Pastors John Marg, M Shekhar Babu, Lazarus, Jnana Prakash and other officials of Minority Welfare Department and Telangana State Christian Finance Corporation have participated in the programme.
