Cheriyal (Warangal): As part of fulfilling its electoral promise, the Telangana government has decided to construct Doddi Komaraiah Bhavan in Hyderabad in memory of the first martyr of the Telangana Armed Struggle.

Announcing this on Sunday, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said the building would come up in two acres of land.

He asked the community leaders to come to the Secretariat on Monday with specific proposals for the construction.

“Meet me tomorrow. I will issue a GO sanctioning Rs 5 crore immediately,” he said amdist thunderous applause at Kuruma Sammelan orgnised by the Telangana Kuruma Sangham at Komuravelli. He also assured that temple town of Komuravelli would get political representation soon. “I am aware that this area has no representation in politics and one suitable person will get it,” he said.

KCR has achieved the distinction of being the first CM to visit the famous Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple at Komuravelli in Cheriyal mandal to witness the celestial wedding of Mallikarjuna Swamy with Medalamma and Kethamma. He presented ‘Pattu Vastrams’ and ‘Mutyla Talambralu’ to the deity.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a 56-rotom Kuruma Bhavan at the village on the day. The government will also consider extending financial assistance to the community to buy and rear sheep, the CM said while praising Kurumas for their honesty and hardworking nature.

Plans would be drawn for all-round development of the Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple patronized by Kuruma and Yadava communities, the Chief Minister assured. He told the community members to send their wards to schools to make them literate as their traditional vocation had lost relevance in the modern day.

The Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Bandaru Dattatreya, too urged the community members to accord priority to educating their wards while appealing to the Chief Minister to provide financial help to the community.
