Sircilla (Karimnagar): Ramannapalli in Sircilla mandal has emerged first crime-free village in Telangana. The village lies 10 km from Sircilla, but it lags behind remote villages in development.

Chief Minister KCR had adopted the village during his tenure as Karimnagar MP. It is in Sircilla constituency represented by IT and Panchayat Raj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao. KCR failed to develop it. Ramannapalli resembles a tribal hamlet. It lacks roads, drainage, streetlights and other infrastructure. A majority of the residents depend on agriculture for livelihood. The residents used to solve their problems through negotiations and earned fame.

There were four pending cases pertaining to Ramannapalli. Local police said the government will offer incentives if the cases were settled amicably. With the cooperation of Sircilla DSP Damera Narasaiah and CI Vijay Kumar, villagers settled the cases and got a unique distinction in the State.

Ramannapalli is a role model in the State. The residents claim they lived up to the expectations of KCR by making the village crime-free. They are hopeful that it will be developed with TRS in power.

Villagers said they were shy of saying Ramannapalli was once adopted by KCR as it was lagging behind in infrastructure. They urged him to release funds for development.
