Telangana Health Department denies reports of swine flu deaths
Stating that there was no iota of truth in reports of swine flu deaths in Telangana State which appeared in a section of the media, Dr P Sambasiva Rao, Director, Public Health and Family Welfare, said there was no such fatality at all and they had distributed anti-swine flu medicines to all hospitals in 10 districts.

Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Sambasiva Rao clarified that eight deaths reported so far in the State were due to other diseases but not swine flu. “We are prepared to check the problem and alert the hospitals and public health centres across the State,” he said and urged the people not to be worried about swine flu.
He clarified that patients suffering from other diseases got in contact with swine flu virus which proved fatal. Swine flu was not a terminal disease, he said, adding there were no deaths as reported. He also said the government had directed private hospitals to send swine flu patients to government hospitals for immediate treatment.
