Dharmasagar (Warangal): The State government has been laying great emphasis on girls’ education, said Deputy Chief Minister Dr. T Rajaiah on Friday. Girl particularly from rural areas should focus on education to excel in their lives. He inaugurated the Kasturba Gandhi Girls High School building constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 125 lakh at Mupparam village in this mandal. In an inspiring address, Dr. Rajaiah asked the school students to give up thought that they are uncared for. “The TRS government is with you and is making every effort to support the rural poor and downtrodden,” he asserted.

Sharing his experiences, he said, “Only because of education I have reached the position of Deputy Chief Minister from being a shepherd boy.” The Deputy Chief Minister said in Warangal district, 549 metric tonnes of fine rice would be supplied to about 3,378 schools annually.

An amount of Rs. 4.05 crore would be released for new roads and repairs of existing pathways leading to Mupparam. Earlier, he attended a programme at Pedda Pendial in the mandal where he distributed food security cards and launched fine rice distribution programme to white-card holders.

“The government is ready to spend whatever it takes to supply the fine rice to beneficiaries,” he said. Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Padma, Chief Executive officer V Venkateshwarlu, Additional Joint Collector K Krishna Reddy, Civil Supplies officer Usha Rani, Revenue Divisional officer Venkata Madhava Rao, SSA Executive Engineer Ravinder were present.
