GHMC polls in mind, organises mega camp on Jan 22

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which is aiming at making inroads into the Old City of Hyderabad has decided to organise a mega awareness camp in the Old City on January 22 to enlighten people about various welfare schemes being implemented by the government in Telangana State.

The TRS leaders and workers of all 49 divisions in Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency will participate in the awareness camp. Hundreds of deserving beneficiaries had also been invited for the camp where they would be explained the procedures to apply and avail benefits of schemes like housing, pension and Shaadi Mubarak, said Rashid Shareef, TRS in-charge of Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency here on Sunday. He said the TRS leaders would also discuss the conditions of government schools and hospitals in the Old City and would submit a report to the ministers concerned for follow-up action. This would be followed up by trying to go in for membership drive.

The mega awareness camp will be held at TRS Bhavan in the Old City at Etebar Chowk near Mir Alam Mandi at 5 pm on January 22. Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, all TRS candidates who contested the last general elections from the Old City and other leaders will address the camp.

Nearly 1,000 leaders and workers belonging to different political parties would join the TRS on the occasion, Shareef added.
