Union Health Minister J P Nadda reviewed the situation in Delhi. The minister has assured all support to the State by way of logistics and medicines to supplement its efforts to manage the cases. As part of this, the Health Minister said he had spoken to KCR and state Health Minister T Rajaiah on Wednesday on the incidence of H1N1 cases in the state.

The Union Health Minister said that a high-level three-member team will reach Hyderabad on Thursday to review the situation and give necessary technical guidance to the state. The team will hold a meeting with the state health authorities on Thursday covering availability of medicines and diagnostics, arrangements at hospitals, clustering of cases, and surveillance by IDSP, sufficiency of lab facilities, preventive measures and IEC campaign. The team will submit its report on return. The state government is also contemplating to evolve a health protocol to be followed by the health authorities.

The Chief Minister also held a cabinet meeting in the evening only to review the situation arising out of swine flu and said that include swine flu in the list of diseases treated under the Arogyasri scheme. A state-level committee was also appointed with the Chief Secretary as the head, to coordinate efforts by the medical and health department and other departments.

A committee of medical experts, including NIMS director Dr Narendra Nath, Director of Medical Education Putta Srinivas, Director of Public Health K Sambasiva Rao, IPM Director and Commissioner of Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad. The Expert committee will monitor operations aimed at preventing swine flu on a daily basis and report to the CS. CS will in turn report to Chief Minister KCR.
