Hyderabad: A 39-year-old businessman along with his family, who went missing since January 30, has been traced by police in Neradigonda mandal in Adilabad district after tracking his activities on phone, police said on Monday. S Subbarao, a resident of NGO Colony in Vanasthalipuram, left the house on January 30 along with his wife and two children.

The suicide note purportedly left by him stated that he incurred heavy losses in his business and ended up in debts and was taking the extreme step as he was under pressure due to losses, Vanasthalipuram inspector P Gopala Krishna Murthy said, adding that Subbarao informed his family members that he was going to a nearby temple, but did not return.

On January 31, the family members got the suicide note from his bedroom and informed the police. Based on a complaint by Somasundaram, brother of Subbarao, police registered a case and formed two special teams to trace the missing family. The two special teams who were constantly in touch with their counterparts from the bordering districts came to know about Subbarao’s activities on phone.

After tracking the cell phone propagation map and ascertaining tower locations, police expanded its search to Adilabad district and tracked the family at Neradigonda mandal on Nirmal-Nagpur highway. “We have been recording and monitoring his money transactions and the ATM card usage,” the inspector said.
