SCCL told to complete power plant works by November
Ministers Jogu Ramanna and A Indrakaran Reddy on Friday called for speedy completion of the Singareni Thermal Power Project at Pegadapalli village in Jaipur mandal of Adilabad district.
Mancherial: Ministers Jogu Ramanna and A Indrakaran Reddy on Friday called for speedy completion of the Singareni Thermal Power Project at Pegadapalli village in Jaipur mandal of Adilabad district.
Speaking after visiting the project site and holding a review meeting with the Singareni Collieries officials, they advised them to speed up the work to ensure generation of 600 MW by November and 600 mw more by March next year. Ramanna and Indrakaran Reddy laid stress on speedy procurement of land for the railway line needed for the project.
They stressed the need for employing local residents and displaced persons in permanent and temporary jobs of the project. They directed SCCL to ensure development of the surrounding villages. In their power-point presentation, SCCL officials said 70 per cent of the project work has been completed.
They assured the Ministers that generation of 600 mw by November would be possible.
Collector M Jaganmohan said 60 acres in Ramaraopet, Indaram and Jaipur villages had been acquired for the railway line.
The balance area would be secured in Teegalapad and Nassur and handed over to SCCL in a month.
