TDP Alive in Telangana: Chandrababu Naidu in Warangal. Situation turned tense in Warangal ahead of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s maiden visit as Chief Minister.

Situation turned tense in Warangal ahead of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s maiden visit as Chief Minister. The Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) activists allegedly torched the TDP district office setting ablaze office furniture, party literature and others.

Earlier in the day they had torched the dais at the meting ground in Hanamkonda erected for Chandrababu’s meeting. The TDP party workers rushed to the scene and put off the flames and the Police seized few kerosene bottles from the location. Police said that though there was no formal complaint from the Telugu Desam Party, investigation is going on and arrested some agitators to prevent untoward incidents.

Earlier, addressing a public meeting at Bhuvanagiri, the TDP chief said that though geographically divided people of both Telugu speaking states were always together and should resolve their issues collectively through negotiations. Police blocked the entry of TDP leaders into the convoy of Chandababu Naidu to avert infiltration by anti socials, but irate TDP leaders and workers picked up a fight with the police officials.

Addressing several road side meetings all along the route, Chandrababu Naidu said he had come as a leader of a political party and not as chief minister of a state. "TDP is surviving in Telangana only due to the sacrifices of the party cadres and workers and I will always remember their welfare till his last breath."

At Warangal town, the TDP flag was set afire by miscreants allegedly belonging to Madiga Students Federation. The Telangana advocates also took out a rally from the district court to demonstrate against Chandrababu, but were stalled by the police.

This is Chandrababu’s first visit to Warangal after the state got bifurcated and he became chief minister of AP. In view of the anticipated trouble from MRPS activists etc, police have advised Chandrababu Naidu to not drive back at night. Hence, the AP CM will stay put in Warangal and will take a helicopter ride tomorrow morning back to Hyderabad.
