The injured children were admitted to the Jadcherla government hospital. But, the teacher was shifted to the Mahabubnagar government hospital from Jadcherla as her condition was serious.

Mahabubnagar: A teacher suffered severe injuries and three children sustained burns due to explosion of a pressure cooker at an Anganwadi centre in Kaverammapet in Jadcherla town on Wednesday. The injured children were admitted to the Jadcherla government hospital. But, the teacher was shifted to the Mahabubnagar government hospital from Jadcherla as her condition was serious.

The explosion occurred when a primary school teacher Venila tried to remove the lid of a pressure cooker while cooking dal at the Anganwadi centre for the staff, who were supervising a health camp at the government primary school which was located beside the Anganwadi centre.

The pressure cooker hit the face of the teacher and the hot dal liquid fell on three children Rohit, Pandu and Laxmi, who were standing beside the teacher. Local residents arrived at the Anganwadi centre and expressed anger over the Aya, who was taking care of children in the absence of Anganwadi worker.
