Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party functionaries have lined up for cake cutting and blood donation programmes in ten districts to mark the 61st birthday of their supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday. However, Rao will be in Mumbai on this special day to hold talks with his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Phadnavis on key interstate projects including Pranahita-Chevella.

He will be returning to Hyderabad late in the day to have a low-key celebration with family members and closed ones at his official residence in the evening. This is Rao’s first birthday after the formation of the State and hence party leaders and activists are leaving no stone unturned to make this day special. Director N Shankar’s birthday song for Chandrashekar Rao will be released by Minister G Jagadish Reddy at a programme to be held at Telangana Bhavan.

A blood donation camp, cutting a huge ake of 61 kgs and release of a song from Bandhook movie will follow. Nizamabad MP and Rao’s daughter K Kavitha will also be present. Meanwhile, district units had drawn plans to celebrate the birthday in each constituency. Cutting of cake, distribution of fruits and clothes, blood donation etc. will be done across ten districts. Meanwhile, Chandrashekar Rao’s move to give top priority to resolve issues concerning the State even ignoring his birthday is sure to send a strong signal to masses, according to political pundits.

He has been saying all along that Bangaru Telangana was his dream and he would strive hard to fulfil it, according to political analysts. This gesture would go a long way in making people believe his commitment for the cause. It may be remembered this was his first birthday in Telangana but he chose to address State issues rather than celebrating the occasion in a big way, they stated.
