Centre to bring in legislation to ban child labour
To ban employment of children below 14 years in any occupation, a bill will be presented before the Cabinet soon, Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya said here on Tuesday.
Karimnagar: To ban employment of children below 14 years in any occupation, a bill will be presented before the Cabinet soon, Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya said here on Tuesday.
"To eradicate child labour under the age of 14, a bill will be presented to the Union Cabinet and will later be introduced in Rajya Sabha during the next session," Dattatreya said. He was talking to reporters at Vemulawada temple town, about 30km from here. The Minister also said the BJP would emerge as the strongest alternative in Telangana in the 2019 general elections. Replying to a query whether the TRS would join the BJP government at the Centre, Dattatreya said the BJP and TRS were political parties with their own ideologies.
"However, State governments have to work in tandem with the Centre on development issues,"
