Nalgonda: The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy began at Yadagirigutta on Friday with Swasthiwachan performed by the temple priests.

Akurarpana was conducted on Friday night by the temple priests, which marks the beginning of the
Brahmotsavams.

Festive atmosphere prevailed on the hill shrine as devotees thronged the famous temple for the Lord’s Brahmotsavams. The premises of the temple was decorated with flowers and illuminated for the festival. The temple authorities made elaborate arrangements for the Brahmostavams of Lakshminarasimha Swamy, being conducted for the first time in the separate State of Telangana.

Dwajarohanam will be conducted on February 21. During the days of the Brahmostavams, the presiding deity will give darshan to devotees in different Avatarams. Swamyvari “Edurkolu” programme will be conducted at 9.45 pm on February 26. The most prominent event Swamyvari Kalyanotsavam will be performed at 9.45 pm on February 27. On behalf of the state government, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will attend the Kalyanotsavam and present “Pattu Vasthralu” (silk clothes) to the presiding deity.

The daily rituals Nithya Kalyanam, Sri Sudarshana Narasimha homam and other sevas were cancelled by the temple authorities during the Brahmotsavams, which will conclude on March 2. Speaking to the media, Executive Officer of the temple Geetha said that all arrangements were made for the Brahmostavams and to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees.

She said that mini buses are also being operated from Yadagirigutta bus stand to the hill shrine for the convenience of the devotees. The District Police have made foolproof security arrangements.
