Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday slammed the BJP for lending support to “conspiracies” being hatched by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu against Telangana State government.

Speaking on the occasion of TRS candidate Palla Rajeswar Reddy filing nomination at Nalgonda for Graduates constituency, Harish Rao accused Naidu of deliberately creating hurdles in the way of the progress of Telangana State.

He also criticised the BJP for extending support to Naidu, who has been relentlessly working against the interests of people in the Telangana State. The Centre also helped the Andhra Pradesh government by transferring seven mandals in Khammam district to Andhra Pradesh in utter violation of norms, he said.

Harish Rao also warned that Naidu's attempts to create problems for Telangana State would not bear fruit as the Telangana graduates, educationists and people were wary of the latter’s designs.

Under the circumstances, the people of the segment would prefer the TRS candidate alone, he said. He also appealed to the people of the region to elect Rajeswar Reddy to solve the problems in the constituency. “Our government is coming up with many welfare schemes and projects and to take them forward, the graduates should support Rajeswar Reddy,” he added.
