Liquor Supply to be stopped in Telangana

Liquor shop owners have a lot to worry with all the wine shops in the Telangana state getting closed in 2-3 days.

According to the sources, the Income tax for the year 2012-13 by the Excise Department was not paid to the Income Tax Department resulting in the IT department seizing the Liquor godowns temporarily in Telangana State.

Previously, the Excise Department was sent notices over the Income tax to be paid of Rs. 1468 crores for the 2012-13, but with no response received within the deadline, the IT department has taken steps to stop the liquor sales in the 17 excise spots.

Hence, the liquor shops will be closed after the old stock is sold.
