Addressing media at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, KTR joined issue issue with the Centre following the charge that the Telangana State government had failed to send proposal for bifurcation of the High Court. He was responding to statements by Union Law Minister Sadananda Gowda, who during his election campaign in Hyderabad, stated that Centre was ready to divide the High Court if Telangana State government sent a proposal .

KTR recalled that the Chief Minister had addressed a letter to the Prime Minister on June 5 (within three days after assuming charge) for bifurcation of the High Court, besides raising this issue three times during his meetings with Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The Chief Minister also met the Chief Justices of both Supreme Court and High Court earlier.
