Hyderabad: Buoyed with huge success of membership drive which witnessed over 50 lakh enrolments, TRS had drawn plans for electing party internal committees. The TRS Legislature Party meeting held under the chairmanship of president K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday decided that the extended meeting of the party would be held on April 24 in which TRS leaders and activists would participate. On the same day, election for the party president would be held. This would be followed by public meeting at Parade Grounds on April 27, coinciding with TRS Formation Day, he said.

Rao told the members that of the 50 lakh enrolments made into the party, data of 38 lakh members was digitized and the remaining would be completed in the coming days. TRS generated Rs 9.26 crore through the membership fee, Rao added. Meanwhile, TDP leader and industrialist Thera Chinnappa Reddy from Nalgonda district joined TRS in the presence of K Chandrashekar Rao at a programme held at Telangana Bhavan on Monday. Thousands of his supporters thronged the venue for the event.
