Adilabad: Ministers Jogu Ramanna and A Indrakaran Reddy asserted here on Sunday that TRS activists were the lifeline of the party and that those working for it would get nominated posts.Addressing the TRS district general body meeting here, the Ministers said it was the responsibility of the party activists to take the welfare schemes to people.

  • Village, mandal-level party committees to be formed by April 18
  • Choice left to MLAs in case of stiff competition
  • Differences among leaders surface in four constituencies

The Ministers advised the party observers to ensure that the village and mandal-level committees were formed between March 30 and April 18 unanimously, without giving scope for controversies. If there was stiff competition the decision should be left to the MLAs.

They wanted the mandal and municipal-level committees to be formed between April 5 and 12.Indrakaran Reddy observed that the TRS activists were like ‘foundation of the party’. He said that the government was ready to implement the schemes suggested by the activists.

Ramanna said the State government was taking up many welfare schemes for the first time in the country like Mission Kakatiya, Aasara pensions and ‘Haritha Haram’. He assured the activists that all would be accommodated in nominated posts, while advising those who do not get them not to be disheartened.

The Minister stated that the party was preparing action plans to provide opportunities to those activists who do not find a place in the village and mandal committees either in the district executive committees or related organisations.

Meanwhile, there were differences of opinions among the TRS leaders with regard to formation of the party committees, particularly in Kagaznagar, Nirmal, Asifabad and Mancherial constituencies. In Nirmal, Indrakaran Reddy and ZP Chairperson Sunitha do not see eye to eye. Both Reddy and Sunitha’s husband Satyanarayana are insisting that the posts should go to their respective supporters.

In Kagaznagar, there are serious differences between MLA Konappa and former legislator K Sammayya, with both trying to have their own say. In Mancherial, there are two groups headed by MP Balki Suman and MLA Divakar Rao, as indicated by widespread rumours. Both are trying to find places for their supporters in the committees. Such group rivalries are causing anxiety to the party observers who are entrusted with the task of constituting the committees.
