Three new ghats to be laid
Special Officer of Godavari Pushkarams and Tourism Secretary BP Aachrya reviewed the progress of works related to the Godavari Pushkarams at the Collectorate in Hanamkonda on Friday. The review meeting was attended by District Collector V Karuna and officials of irrigation, panchayat raj, roads and buildings, tourism department and revenue. The special officer enquired about the progress of works of three Pushkar Ghats proposed to be constructed on the banks of the River Godavari

The review meeting was attended by District Collector V Karuna and officials of irrigation, panchayat raj, roads and buildings, tourism department and revenue. The special officer enquired about the progress of works of three Pushkar Ghats proposed to be constructed on the banks of the River Godavari for the Pushkarams slated to begin in July.
The Pushkar Ghats were planned to be constructed at Ramannagudem and Mallakatta in Eturunagaram mandal and at Mallur in Mangapet mandal in the district. The District Collector informed that the process of calling tenders was completed and the works would be taken up soon. Acharya asked the officials to lay emphasis on ensuring drinking water and proper sanitation at the Pushkar Ghats. Intach district chapter convener Prof. M Panduranga Rao, district tourism officer M Sivaji and others were present.
