A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is investigating the recent terrorist attack in Nalgonda district, on Monday visited Choppadandi branch of State Bank of India, which was robbed by SIMI activists on February 1, 2014.One of the accused, Mohammed Aijajuddeen, who was killed in the Janakipuram encounter, was involved in the SBI bank robbery.

Karimnagar: A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is investigating the recent terrorist attack in Nalgonda district, on Monday visited Choppadandi branch of State Bank of India, which was robbed by SIMI activists on February 1, 2014.One of the accused, Mohammed Aijajuddeen, who was killed in the Janakipuram encounter, was involved in the SBI bank robbery.

It was established in the investigation of bomb blast in Burdwan of West Bengal, wherein the currency labels of Choppadandi SBI branch were found. Based the labels, NIA sleuths for the first time visited the bank on October 14, 2014 to get first-hand information and more details about the terrorists’ activities. The team, which brought photographs of some of the terrorists enquired about the bank robbery incident. They returned to Hyderabad in the evening, it is learnt.
