A one-day workshop on the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Credit Framework for Skill-Based Vocational Courses will be held at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) on April 7. The University Grants Commission (UGC) had selected UoH as the coordinating university to organise the workshop for all universities and colleges located in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka States.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) had selected UoH as the coordinating university to organise the workshop for all universities and colleges located in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka States.

Prof H Devraj, Vice-Chairman, UGC, Prof MP Mahajan, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Prof Bharathi Harishankar, Department of Women Studies, University of Madras, Chennai, Dr Renu Batra, Joint Secretary, UGC, Harpreet Singh, Director, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), D Ramakrishna Rao, Deputy Secretary (Central Universities), MHRD, Prof Rudra Moorthy, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Dr Nikhil Kumar, Education Officer, UGC, Shashi Kiran, Representative, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Prof E Hari Babu, Vice-Chancellor, UoH will be participating in the workshop.

Summer programmes

Meanwhile, the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) will conduct summer programmes for school children on computational thinking. The programmes, which are for students of class V to X, will equip young minds with fundamental computational skills. The programmes will help build logic, problem solving and analytical skills through theoretical as well as hands-on sessions. The last date for registration to the programmes is April 15.
