Hyderabad: The demand for shifting of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commission (GHMC) Special Officer Somesh Kumar is fast gaining ground. The TRS leaders from city and the ex-corporators are up in arms against him as they feel that his attitude to take unilateral decisions was causing immense damage to the party.

Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, T Padma Rao and Naini Narasimha Reddy are among those who are said to have drawn the attention of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao towards this problem. Sources close to the Ministers said Somesh was even ignoring proposals of the Ministers. It is believed that these Ministers told the CM that if TRS has to make inroads in to the State capital, Somesh Kumar should be immediately shunted out from his present post.

Party leaders stated that though the city Ministers were not happy with the style of functioning of Somesh Kumar, they had been taking it in their stride for the last several months. A stage has reached when they no longer are able to bear his attitude and hence they knocked at the doors of the CM. Somesh Kumar’s recent announcement about 100-day action plan in which GHMC proposes to spend Rs 1,000 crore did not go down well with city unit of the party. According to city leaders, GHMC commissioner made this announcement without even inviting Ministers for the meeting.
