Telangana told to conduct GHMC polls by December The Telangana State Government and state Election Commission on Monday was directed by the Hyderabad High Court to complete the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election process by December 15, 2015.

Dealing with a PIL by the Forum for Good Governance, represented by M. Padmanabha Reddy who challenged the Government’s action in not holding the GHMC elections even after the elected council expired, a division bench ordered the Election Commission to hold the elections within 45 days subsequently by issuing a notification in addition to publishing the electoral rolls to the civic body.
The division bench comprised of Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar who asked the state government to complete the reservation of divisions to SC, ST and BC along with delimitation of divisions by October 31 while granting the interim direction.
