Hyderabad: A day after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao challenged the opposition to come for a debate on the implementation of welfare schemes, Telangana Telugu Desam on Tuesday dared KCR for an open discussion on the development of Hyderabad under TDP rule and also claimed that KCR’s popularity was on wane, since he failed to fulfil promises.

Addressing the media persons, party working president Errabelli Dayakar Rao said Hyderabad was promoted as global city during the TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu’s regime in the united AP. All the infrastructure and investments made in the city were because of the efforts put in by Naidu. He took strong exception to wild allegations made against Naidu by KCR on the city development.

He also claimed that Naidu’s proactive steps during his tenure made Telangana a revenue surplus State after the bifurcation. The TDP leader said people lost confidence in KCR after the latter failed to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the people in the new State.

Errabelli also demanded the TRS government to conduct election for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and prove the popularity gained by KCR after the general election. He wondered why the TRS was not ready for the election when the party claimed KCR emerged as strong force in the State.
