Direct GHMC to stop collecting property tax : BJP
BJP Greater Hyderabad president B Venkat Reddy on Friday demanded that the State Government to immediately direct the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to stop collecting the property tax. In a statement here on Friday, Venkat Reddy alleged that the GHMC, instead of providing basic amenities to the citizens was collecting property tax to increase its revenue.

In a statement here on Friday, Venkat Reddy alleged that the GHMC, instead of providing basic amenities to the citizens was collecting property tax to increase its revenue.
The GHMC, instead of collecting property tax from big fish, who are hugr defaulters, was fleecing the poor by collecting property tax forcibly, he alleged. The BJP leader also demanded that the GHMC slash the property tax and stop collecting it from poor people. Over 11 lakh people had submitted applications under various housing schemes like Indiramma, Rajiv Swagruh and Rajiv Gruhakalpa schemes, he said.
