Hyderabad: The TRS government’s flagship project Mission Kakatiya is getting huge response from the public, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has said. The project has so far received Rs 42 crore as donations, which is a major boost, he remarked. The Mission was attracting many people across the world as the related works are being taken up in a corruption-free and transparent manner, he added.


Till now, the government has started works in 60,000 lakes and water bodies in 10 districts of Telangana. He exuded confidence that the NRIs and rich families would come forward for offering financial support to the project. With donations pouring in, the works will be completed on time to supply irrigation waters to the farmers in villages, he added.


Gland Pharma Chairman VPN Raju handed over a cheque for Rs 50 lakh to the Irrigation Minister as donation at the Ministers Quarters here on Saturday. The Minister revealed that the amount will be spent for Kothapet, Peddacheruvu and Alipur tanks located in Shavampet mandal in Medak district.
