Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya has stated that he is putting in all the efforts to resolve the issues that are being raised by the air passengers who have been demanding the extension of Hyderabad Metro service to the airport.

However, the GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited has not yet responded for the project due to which the Union Government plans to meet the stakeholders to sort the issue. Reviewing the challenges being faced by the Railways, Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, on Monday, said that he would meet with the Union Ministers of Urban Development, Civil Aviation and Home Minister to discuss the complex issues.

With the main priority being the connectivity to Shamshabad airport, other projects to be worked on are the joint programme with the State Government and the South Central Railway, multi-modal transport system to ease the road traffic.

Dattatreya along with MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, South Central Railway General Manager Srivatsava, and Hyderabad Metro Water Works MD Jagdish stated that they would take up the issue of the 4-km stretch from Sanatnagar to the airport giving a direct connectivity to different parts of the city from Airport.
