After assuming charge as Chief Commissioner of Telangana State Scouts and Guides at a program held at A V College Grounds here, Kavitha said only after a prolonged fight it was possible to set up separate Telangana State Scouts and Guides Unit and informed that separate unit was formed on Monday after separation with AP Scouts and Guides. She thanked Governor ESL Narasimhan for his cooperation in this regard.

Kavitha said everyone should work hard to make Telangana State Scouts and Guides Unit best one across the nation. Stating that the Scouts and Guides got Peace Award in 1986, she lamented that the number of committed scouts and guides was reduced these days when compared to the past.

The reason might be lack of cooperation from the governments or other things, she said. Bharath Scouts and Guides Chief Commissioner Sukumar, Telangana State Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari took part in the programme.
