Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has been facing an uphill task in mobilising people for the Rythu Bharosa Padayatra in Telangana, to be taken on May 15. The TPCC had recently announced that Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi would take up the Padayatra with 20,000 people, but this has now become a tough task. When party leaders from various districts were asked to mobilise people for the Padayatra, they were said to have expressed their inability to do so unless the AICC or the TPCC gives necessary funds.

Though the TPCC has constituted various committees to take care of various aspects of the Padayatra, it is learnt that none of the senior leaders is willing to spend the money on their own. In fact, at one point of time, even senior leaders were unhappy over the way the TPCC was handling things without seeking their involvement in the arrangements for Rahul’s visit. Sensing trouble, the TPCC leaders roped in leaders like Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, D K Aruna and others to make the visit a grand success.

Meanwhile, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka informed the media that Rahul Gandhi would reach Shamshabad airport at 4 pm on May 14, and would go to Nirmal town in Adilabad district in a motorcade. Enroute to Nirmal, he would pass through the towns of Toopran, Kamareddy, Dichpally, Mamidipally, Perkit and Balkonda. He would stay at hotel Mayura Inn, in Nirmal town for the night on May 14.

On May 15, he would embark on Padayatra at 7 am and would meet families of farmers in Koratikal, Laxmanchanda, Pottupally, Rachapur, Wadial villages. Around 4 pm, he would address a gathering of farmers at the Wadial village and return to Hyderabad by evening, before he leaves for New Delhi.
