Lingupalli chosen as model village for Open Defecation Free Scheme

State Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, on Thursday, inaugurated the ‘Open Defecation Free Scheme’ at Lingupalli village of Domakonda Mandal under Swach Bharat-Swach Telangana project. Under this scheme, government would allot Individual lavatories to each and every house, in the village.

Already 110 lavatories have been constructed and the remaining 93 lavatories will be constructed in two days

Nizamabad: State Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, on Thursday, inaugurated the ‘Open Defecation Free Scheme’ at Lingupalli village of Domakonda Mandal under Swach Bharat-Swach Telangana project. Under this scheme, government would allot Individual lavatories to each and every house, in the village.


On the occasion, Pocharam said that villagers should construct individual lavatories at each and every house and protect their health. He said the State and Central government observing the ‘Swach Bharat-Swach Telangana’ programme and Lingupalli was chosen as a model village, he added.


Gampa Goverdhan, Kamareddy MLA said that out of total 203 houses in the village, already 110 lavatories were constructed and urged the officials to construct remaining 93 lavatories within two days, on a war-footing. Ronald Rose, Nizamabad District Collector said, the district authorities have decided to make Nizamabad district ‘Open Defecation Free Zone.


Under Swach Bharat Programme government should construct nearly one lakh ‘lavatories’ in 235 villages, to keep the environment clean. He said the district officials should take necessary action to complete constructing remaining lavatories in the village. At the inauguration programme JC Ravinder Reddy, RDO Nagesh, ZPTC Madhusudan Rao, MPP Balarajamma, RWS SE Satyanarayana and villagers participated.
