Telangana Anganvadi Workers and Helpers Association (TAWHA) has given a call to observe May 26 as ‘National Protest Day’ demanding the Centre to strengthen ICDS by allotting Rs.35,000 crores and construct buildings for Anganvadis and enhance the quality of nutritional food.

Hyderabad: Telangana Anganvadi Workers and Helpers Association (TAWHA) has given a call to observe May 26 as ‘National Protest Day’ demanding the Centre to strengthen ICDS by allotting Rs.35,000 crores and construct buildings for Anganvadis and enhance the quality of nutritional food.


TAWHA demanded the Centre to implement the scheme on permanent basis. The government has to recognize the Anganvadi workers as government employees and pay Rs.15,000 and provide pension, retirement benefits and not to privatize the Anganwadis.


TAWHA president Ch Seethamahalaxmi, general secretary Nanduri Karuna Kumari, honorary president P Prem Pavani, treasurer Pyarajaan and Telangana Working Women Forum convener M Shivanaga Mallishwari participated in the meeting.
