A Chief Minister Friendly Policing Tournament is being organised from May 25 to 30 in KCR’s Gajwel constituency for promoting good relations between the youth and the police, in connection with the Telangana Formation Day. Police clubs in all mandals have been formed, with the names finalised on the basis of a mandal’s history. Youth clubs have been constituted in the limits of all police stations in the constituency.

Sangareddy (Medak): A Chief Minister Friendly Policing Tournament is being organised from May 25 to 30 in KCR’s Gajwel constituency for promoting good relations between the youth and the police, in connection with the Telangana Formation Day.
Police clubs in all mandals have been formed, with the names finalised on the basis of a mandal’s history. Youth clubs have been constituted in the limits of all police stations in the constituency.

DSP M Thirupathanna is also seenThe 162 villages in six mandals of the district have been divided into 35 clusters. Thirty-six rural police officers have been appointed to oversee the 90 volleyball and 66 kabaddi teams in the clusters. Village police officials and VROs have identified/selected the teams. Events are to be organised at Gajwel (covering Gajwel & Toopran mandals), Kondapaka (Kondapaka & Jagdevpur) and Mulug ( for Wargal & Mulug).

Opportunities are being provided to youngsters from all villages in the tournament. The participants will be given suitable employment opportunities in both public and private sectors, depending on their educational qualifications. Centres to train these youth are proposed to be set up by the police and revenue departments, enabling them to do well in jobs. The police are getting ready to offer the training.

The Department of Youth Services has sanctioned Rs10 lakh to the police for organising the tourney. The details have been worked out by Collector Rahul Bojja, SP B Sumathi and GAD officer Hanumanth Rao. The Gajwel Rotary Club is arranging referees and scorers.

Ministers N Narasimha Reddy and T Harish Rao, besides DGP Anurag Sharma, are to attend as guests at the inauguration of the tourney in VPJ Function Hall near Lakshmakkapalli village in Vantimamidi mandal. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will attend the closing function on May 30.
