The KCR government has completed its first year and a peek into the developments that the Government has been implementing in the last one year, certainly gives us a good reason to cheer. The Telangana CM started his day by paying tributes at the Martyrs Memorial at the Gun Park in Hyderabad.

So how has the government performed in its first one year in power?

Hits which puts KCR's government in a positive light:

Quota for BCs/SCs/STs in market committees, Loan waiver for weavers, Proposal of 3% reservation for Christians, Allocation of RS 1000cr for minority corporation, Holding PV Narasima Rao’s birth anniversary celebrations officially, Renaming the Agricultural university after Prof Jayashankar, A special increment for the Telangana government employees, Cash award for Everest trekking team, Cash awards for the International Players from state, New Innova vehicles for police commssionerates, Ordering of CID probe into housing scam and several others.

For the IT sector, the government has revamped its industrial and IT policies to attract crores in investments. KCR's son and IT minister KTR is entrusted with the responsibility of getting investments by touring foreign countries.

The Government has implemented the first phase of the loan waiver and Rs.4,250 crore has been paid to the banks with allocations for three more similar annual installments.

The Telangana government announced a new scheme for Beedi workers under Aasara pension scheme to provide financial assistance to the workers and are poorly paid.

One of the much publisized schemes in the Telangana government is Mission Kakatiya which is meant to de-silt centuries old 45,000 tanks.

Controversies and misses:
There have been a fair share of controversies and misses for the Telangana government in the last one year.

Free KG to PG scheme to provide quality and English medium education to the deprived sections is yet to be implemented.

Delay in implementing the promise of constructing two BHK houses for the poor.

The first controversy that rocked the Telangana government was the Intensive Household Survey, which aimed to ascertain the details of an estimated 84 lakh families living in the state, which was criticized by all the parties

Ban on a few television channels in the state

The students, OU students in particular are up in arms for jobs

Controversy over constructing houses for the poor slum dwellers on OU campus

KCR has been criticized for his decision to shift the Secretariat over Vastu concerns.

Issues over sharing of water and power between the two Telugu states remains unsolved

Overall, the Telangana Government led by KCR has done a good job in meeting the expectations of the people
