Hyderabad: In a move to counter the argument of AP government that the Governor should implement Section 8 of the AP State Reorganisation Act, the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was closeted with Governor ESL Narasimhan for the second time in three days.


During the 30 minutes meet, Rao is understood to have raised objections to Andhra Pradesh government’s fresh stand on deploying its own police in Hyderabad. He also briefed him about progress made by ACB in cash-for-vote scam. KCR, had called on the Governor before leaving for a tour of Karimnagar district, According to sources, Rao expressed his anguish at the manner in which Andhra Pradesh government and its ministers were acting.

Their statements pertaining to imposition of Section 8, own security and policing is leading to unnecessary concerns in not only people having roots in Andhra Pradesh but also those belonging to other states. Rao emphasized that the law and order situation across Telangana was peaceful during the last one year. He reportedly told the Governor that he was himself a witness to the peaceful atmosphere in Hyderabad.


This meeting assumed significance in wake of Narasimhan holding talks with High Court Chief Justice on Tuesday probably on the use of section 8 and situation that demands it. The Chief Minister brought to the notice of Governor about Election Commission’s directions to take the case to logical end.


Election body’s decision is a shot in the arm for investigating agency to bring the culprits to justice KCR is understood to have stressed on the need for issuing notices to Chandrababu Naidu. He briefed Governor about furthering the probe by ACB which served notices to Telugu Desam leaders S Venkata Veeraiah and Vem Narender Reddy.


KCR strongly resented the pressure tactics of Naidu for implementation of Section 8 of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, it is learnt.
