Belonging to various organizations, Osmania University students staged a protest on Saturday outside the Chief Minister’s camp office in Begumpet demanding fee limits to be set in corporate colleges and private schools.


The OU students also demanded that the government should intervene to ensure efficient execution of the Right to Education Act across the state along with taking measures for increasing the quality of education imparted in universities, colleges and government schools.

One such student who was a part of the protest demanding government to take stand against private schools and colleges who obtain donations even after charging high fees, K Mahesh of the Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika said that about 15 students were arrested by the police and were taken to Goshamahal stadium even before they could reach the Chief Minister’s camp office. He also stated that they were released after a while.
