The entire stretch of Begumpet route witnessed massive traffic jam on Saturday evening during peak hours between 7 pm and 8 pm as the city police conducted rehearsals and took out a mock convoy as part of preparations for the arrival of President of India who would be coming to Hyderabad on June 30.

The entire stretch of Begumpet route witnessed massive traffic jam on Saturday evening during peak hours between 7 pm and 8 pm as the city police conducted rehearsals and took out a mock convoy as part of preparations for the arrival of President of India who would be coming to Hyderabad on June 30.


Traffic on the entire stretch went haywire due to the traffic restrictions imposed by the police and the ongoing works on the Metro Rail project added to the woes. People using the stretch which happens to be the busiest arterial roads connecting the Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Kondapur and the people going towards Secunderabad and surrounding areas had tough time.


According to police, there would be diversion on the entire stretch from Raj Bhavan to Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum on June 30. He would be passing through – Malla Reddy Nagar – Lothukunta Y Jn. – MCEME Signal – Lal Bazar T jn. – Holy Family Church – Trimulgherry x roads – RTA Office – Hanuman Temple – Karkhana L&O PS – Oxygen Hospital, Vikrampuri – Secunderabad Club in gate – NCC Directorate x roads – Tivoli x roads – Plaza X Roads – C.T.O.Flyover – Rasoolpura Jn - PNT flyover – Shyamlal Building – HPS – Begumpet Flyover - Greenlands Jn. – Rajiv Gandhi Statue (Monappa Island) – Yashoda Hospital – Villa Marie – MMTS - Raj Bhavan during the evening time on June 30. Later, the President would return on the same route after dinner at Raj Bhavan.
