Maoists urged to give up arms. The district police on Sunday released a wall-poster carrying the photographs of 19 underground Maoists including four women from the district. The police coined the slogan “Vanajeevanam Veedandi – Janajeevanamlo Kalavandi” (leave forest life – join the social mainstream) urging the underground Maoists to give up arms and join the mainstream.

The Maoists were asked to give up arms as they would achieve nothing by resorting to violence. The phone numbers of police officials were also printed on the poster to provide information to the Maoists who were willing to surrender

Karimnagar: The district police on Sunday released a wall-poster carrying the photographs of 19 underground Maoists including four women from the district. The police coined the slogan “Vanajeevanam Veedandi – Janajeevanamlo Kalavandi” (leave forest life – join the social mainstream) urging the underground Maoists to give up arms and join the mainstream.

Besides photographs, all details including names, rewards and addresses of the Maoists were printed on the multi-coloured poster. It was also written on the poster that naxaliltes have achieved nothing by going underground should join the social mainstream and avail the benefits offered by the state government.

The Maoists were asked to give up arms as they would achieve nothing by resorting to violence. The phone numbers of police officials were also printed on the poster to provide information to the Maoists who were willing to surrender. Releasing the poster, Superintendent of Police, D Joel Davis said that Maoist have destroyed number of families by killing innocent people by branding them as police informers.

They obstructed the development process by damaging public and private property. He urged them to give up violence and lead meaningful lives. Joel Davis also appealed to the friends and relatives of the Maoists, who were in exile, to convince them in surrendering to the government.
