The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday grilled Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Sathupally MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah for a second day in connection with the ‘Cash-for-Vote’ scam. After questioning the legislator at the ACB headquarters in Banjara Hills, the investigative agency presented him in the court and later shifted him back to Cherlapally Jail.

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday grilled Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Sathupally MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah for a second day in connection with the ‘Cash-for-Vote’ scam. After questioning the legislator at the ACB headquarters in Banjara Hills, the investigative agency presented him in the court and later shifted him back to Cherlapally Jail.


The ACB officials questioned him for two days (July 9 and 10) to gather more information about his role and the involvement of others in the scam. The investigating agency believes Sandra played a key role in bribing the nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson. The agency in its remand diary had already informed the court that Sandra spoke to one of the accused in the case 32 times over phone.

The Special Court for ACB and SPE cases on Wednesday sent Sandra to ACB custody for two days. The interrogation of the accused must be held between 9 am and 5.30 pm only as per the court orders. Sandra was included as accused number five in the case. He was remanded to judicial custody till July 21.
