Hyderabad: The two-Judge PIL Bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice SV Bhatt adjourned by a week the case of ailing Pratyusha. The bench in its order made clear that it is open to the government to restrict visitors either or wander to visit ailing Pratyusha in Aware Global Hospital.


The bench as reported earlier treated a letter addressed to it by sitting Judge Challa Kondandaram. The bench voiced serious concern earlier at the mobbed instance where the girl was imprisoned abused and ill-treated by her father and step mother (both since arrested).


The bench earlier directed production of Pratyusha in court on Monday. Sharath Kumar, Special Government Pleader produced medical certificate from private hospital opining that Pratyusha had not yet recovered physically and psychologically from the trauma. The opinion of the doctor that it would be a week before she does. The bench made clear that her discharge from hospital must strictly be in accordance with medical opinion.


The bench took cognizance of newspaper reports which pointed to the Chief Minister (Telangana) visiting the ailing victim. The bench directed the government to file an affidavit detailing on how it is proposing to exhibit various promises held out to the victim.
