With pilgrims flocking Pushkar ghats in large numbers during the final days of Godavari Pushkaralu, Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed the authorities to cancel VIP darshan and special pujas in all the temples on the banks of the river.

He held a review meeting with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and DGP Anurag Sharma and other senior officials in this connection on Wednesday. KCR instructed Endowments Commissioner N Shiva Shanker to ensure that his directions were implemented immediately in five districts where Pushkaralu festivities were being organised.The Chief Minister took this decision after top officials briefed him about the huge increase in pilgrims visiting Pushkar ghats for the last few days.
