Talasani to inaugurate 11 day Bonalu festivities

kkanna Madanna Mahankali Mandiram president G Niranjan informed that Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav would inaugurate the 11-day Bonalu and Mahankali Jathara festival with the ‘Dwajarohana’ (hoisting the flag) at Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Mandiram at Haribowli in Shalibanda at 10.30 am on Friday.

Hyderabad: Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Mandiram president G Niranjan informed that Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav would inaugurate the 11-day Bonalu and Mahankali Jathara festival with the ‘Dwajarohana’ (hoisting the flag) at Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Mandiram at Haribowli in Shalibanda at 10.30 am on Friday.


In a press note, Niranjan informed that the Matha Ghatam will be brought in a procession from Kashi Vishwanath temple in Shalibanda at 6 pm and installed at the premises of the temple at 11 pm on Sunday. Shakambari Alankara Pooja on August 5, Laksha Kunkumarchana and Deeparadhana procession on August 7, Chandi Havanam, Laksha Pushparachana and Thottela Uregimpu on August 8.


Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao would be inaugurating the Bonalu Photo Exhibition on August 5 and Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy would inaugurate the second floor of the Akkanna Madanna Prayer Hall on August 6. After Mahabhishekam at 4 pm on ‘Main Bonalu Festival Day’ of August 9, the devotees would have the Darshan of Matha and offer Bonam till late night.


Ammavari Shanthi Kalyanam will be held at 7 pm.After the Pothraju Swagatham at 11 am and Rangam at 12 noon, the traditional and colorful procession starts at 4 pm with Matha Ghatam on a well decorated elephant on August 10.The procession would be inaugurated by Telangana State government advisor Dr KV Ramana Chary and Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy would be the chief guest.


The procession passes through Bela, Sudha Talkies, Nehru Statue, Lal Darwaza X Roads, Shalibanda, Charminar, Madina, Pathergatti and reaches Delhi Darwaza Matha Temple near Musi River in Nayapul concluding 11 days of festival.
