TO FIGHT VICTIMISATION OF WOMEN
Hyderabad: Stung and concerned over Hyderabad’s dubious distinction (it ranks third in atrocities against women), Lok Satta Party has constituted a Nirbhaya Action Team that comprises of eminent women from the city, to fight against the rampant victimisation. Lashing out at the State government, the National General Secretary Hyma Pothineni, wondered at a press conference as to why the TRS government had not submitted a single proposal under the Nirbhaya Fund.
This, she said tantamount to denial of human rights to thousands of victims. She lamented that the State had the unfortunate stigma of being the worst among all cities in female trafficking for prostitution.The party’s Telangana State chief, Pandu Ranga Rao, launched a scathing attack against the K Chandrashekar Rao government and its ineptness in handling the cash-for-vote scam.
He said after the bravado it displayed, the government has either ‘developed feet or a deal has been struck thereby making Revanth Reddy a target of the issue.’ Meanwhile, Lok Satta Party is having a two-day brainstorming session on Friday and Saturday to chalk out their action plan for the ensuing GHMC elections.Bonthu Sambi Reddy, Surendra Srivatsava and A Srinivas, National communications Chairperson and others were also present.
