Hyderabad: Minister for Commercial Taxes and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav here on Wednesday said he would try to introduce a single window system for clearance of plans to build mini theatres in mandal headquarters. The Minister made this assurance when a delegation, led by Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce (TSFCC) president Ramamohan, submitted a memorandum in this regard.

The TSFCC urged the Minister to ensure that clearance of plans for 250-seat mini theatres in mandal headquarters through a single window system. It also appealed to the Minister to grant exemption of entertainment tax for five years for mini theatres and ensure power supply at the tariff on a par with industry.

The TSFCC urged the Minister to permit the single screen theatres to screen five shows a day to give a boost to small budget films. It stressed the need to bring in amendments to the Cinematography Act to make the renewal of fire and cinema licences every three years.

After giving a patient hearing to the pleas made by the delegation, the Minister promised to take its representation to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and would help the film industry. The delegation comprised Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce secretary Murali Mohan, advisors Sudhakar Reddy, N Shankar, Sunil, Basi Reddy and others.
