The unions called off following talks and the appeal made by the Panchayat Raj Minister in view of the Independence Day celebrations and the upcoming launch of the Grama Jyothi scheme. All employees would join duty from Friday.

The unions called off following talks and the appeal made by the Panchayat Raj Minister in view of the Independence Day celebrations and the upcoming launch of the Grama Jyothi scheme. All employees would join duty from Friday.
The government would appoint a committee headed by Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj) to look into their demands, announced K Tarakarama Rao. The committee will hold discussions with panchayat raj staff and other stakeholders over the next two months. The government will implement all possible recommendations made by the committee, said KTR.
Stating that TRS government does not believe in making false promises unlike others, KTR explained that the Chief Minister enhanced the ceiling on funds spent towards wages of panchayat staff from existing 30 percent to 50 percent.Union leaders hoped that the Telangana government would positively consider their demands and do justice to them
