A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice R Subash Reddy and Justice A Shanker Narayana on Friday refused to take on a priority basis writ pleas filed by the management of private medical colleges. The medical colleges moved writ pleas questioning the action of the government (Telangana) in exempting the candidates from having to execute the controversial Bank guarantee for the entire course period.

As reported earlier the government had permitted the management of the medical colleges to insist upon the candidates executing a bank guarantee for a huge sum. This is under challenge in a separate set of writ petitions before the bench. On Friday when the management of the private medical colleges moved the court seeking leave to take up the hearing of the matter as a lunch motion , the bench observed that it was not a matter that could not wait till Monday.
