Pvt pharma colleges likely to be delinked from JNTU-H. The University intends to cut down the number colleges as it doesn’t have its own pharmacy college and department to look into the activities of private colleges.

Hyderabad: Plans are afoot to delink private pharmacy colleges from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H). The University intends to cut down the number colleges as it doesn’t have its own pharmacy college and department to look into the activities of private colleges.

Currently, 90 private pharmacy colleges are affiliated to the JNTU-H. The varsity wants the colleges to get affiliation from Kakatiya University where it has a full-fledged college, department and faculty members.

A senior official of Telangana State Council of Higher Education said due to lack of college and department at JNTU-H, the university had been facing problems for inspecting colleges for granting affiliations. “Academics, evaluation and research are also hit without a full-fledged college.

By affiliating colleges to Kakatiya University, the burden on the University will come down so will the number of affiliated colleges,” official added. The Minister directed the university officials to send a proposal to government for a decision.
